OKI has announced its new medium-term management plan for fiscal years 2026 to 2031.

President Takahiro Mori stated, “We are shifting our management from defense to offense. At the heart of this is a return to the philosophy of our founder, Okigataro.”

Currently, the company’s operating revenue is in the 400 billion yen range, but it aims to increase this to over 600 billion yen by fiscal year 2031.

The new management plan is based on an approach rooted in intellectual capital. The first three years will focus on simultaneously promoting business growth and further structural reforms to strengthen the growth foundation. The latter three years will leverage this foundation to achieve results.

Regarding business strategy, the company will focus on growth areas such as “Information and Communication,” “AI/Semiconductors/Aerospace,” “Disaster Prevention/National Resilience,” and “Defense Industry/Marine.” Furthermore, it will highlight finance as a unique area of focus.

For example, in information and communication, emphasis will be placed on the network infrastructure area. The company will focus on the transition to next-generation networks such as IOWN/6G, the spread of autonomous networks, and the advancement of operations through the use of AI, recognizing these as market opportunities.

Leveraging its strengths in voice communication technology, large-scale network SI, and operational know-how, the company plans to expand its business by providing carrier-grade manufacturing, SI, and advanced network operation services.

In addition to serving telecommunications carriers, the company will also focus on expanding the social infrastructure market, including railways, roads, and power companies with large-scale private networks.

“Our company handles ETC and roadside systems. As autonomous driving becomes more widespread, the need to detect and communicate road conditions is rapidly increasing. Our strengths lie in highway ETC and probe analysis, and we have built up a track record of providing accurate information that does not disrupt on-site operations. We will accelerate the advancement of mobility-related information provision by combining on-site knowledge with communication and AI analysis,” said President Mori.

At the start of its new medium-term management plan, the company will change its name from “Oki Electric Industry” to “OKI.”
