NTT docomo business’s AI-Centric ICT Platform as a Pillar of Growth

小島社長(President Kojima)

NTT docomo business held a business strategy briefing on Tuesday, the 30th. As part of its new growth strategy, the company aims to become an industrial and regional DX platform provider that supports large corporations, regional communities, and small and medium-sized enterprises.
President Katsushige Kojima stated, “The AI-Centric ICT Platform is the foundation of our growth strategy.”
The core of the AI-Centric ICT Platform is NaaS. NaaS software-encodes network functions, allowing for flexible ICT environment construction. Users can freely change bandwidth via the portal. Billing is also per-minute.
The AI-Centric ICT Platform is equipped with a function to detect abnormal communications within the network. This patented feature is unmatched by other companies.
Mobile edge computing can accommodate communications requiring low latency, such as those for autonomous driving. The company also supports distributed data centers and can provide container-type data centers.
President Kojima said, “We will bring together the NTT Group’s cutting-edge technologies and evolve our AI-Centric ICT platform as a pillar of our business, so that it will become the foundation of future society.”
The company also aims to strengthen its business in four key areas: AI, IoT, Digital BPO, and Regional/Small and Medium-sized Enterprise DX. The company aims to achieve a combined sales of over 500 billion yen in fiscal 2027, doubling the 250 billion yen in fiscal 2024.
In the AI area, the company will strengthen its AI-Centric ICT platform and provide hybrid solutions incorporating other AI technologies, centered around Tsuzumi.
President Kojima stated, “We will also utilize AI to enhance the competitiveness of our managed services, which are one of our strengths. Our ability to provide a seamless service, from AI solutions to AI-optimized platforms, is our strength.”
IoT provides a one-stop, secure IoT infrastructure and environment, and plans to roll out solutions worldwide.

Digital BPO is advancing BPO solutions centered on the strategic business alliance with transcosmos announced last year. One such solution is the release of the SaaS-based communication service “docomo business ANCAR” in December. This service aims to improve CX and EX by using AI to evolve various customer touchpoints at companies, such as contact centers, sales offices, and stores. It offers a variety of functions, including voice AI-IVR, call recording, and the ability to visualize customer experiences based on call log data.

Regional/SME DX aims to expand its customer base by making good use of mobile.

“Small and medium-sized enterprises face a variety of challenges, including cash flow, DX promotion, business efficiency, and successor development. Some say they lack the personnel capable of considering IT implementation. We provide DX solutions that solve these issues,” says President Kojima.
