Osaka Keisa Hospital Uses the Da Vinci 5 Surgical Assist Robot

Osaka Keisa Hospital performed Osaka’s first lung cancer surgery using the Da Vinci 5, the latest model of the surgical assist robot, on Monday, July 4th.
The hospital installed the Da Vinci 5 on Saturday, July 19th. The robot used in this surgery is a US-made surgical assist robot, the latest version of the previous fourth-generation model, the Da Vinci Xi.
The force feedback function, using the Da Vinci 5’s dedicated forceps, provides a more realistic sense of touch, improving the surgeon’s precision. More than 150 design revisions have been made to achieve a more efficient workflow, increasing surgeon autonomy and enabling shorter surgery times and a faster learning curve.
Analysis of surgical data also enables optimization of postoperative progress and treatment plans.
