Kanagawa Tourism Association and others build a platform for tourism DX

Kanagawa Tourism Association (Kanagawa DMO), NTT East Kanagawa, YDMS, Travel Zip, and makes have been selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism’s Japan Tourism Agency’s “Marketing Strengthening Model Demonstration Project for Promoting Tourism DX in Tourist Destinations and the Tourism Industry Nationwide.”
As part of this, a consortium was formed centered on Kanagawa DMO to work on the “Kanagawa Tourism DX Promotion Marketing Strengthening Model Demonstration Project,” and a platform was built that can be used by members of the Kanagawa Tourism Association.
By utilizing the platform, statistical data can be easily obtained and viewed. It also enables appropriate promotion to target groups based on data.
Specifically, 36 types of tourism data, including the “Tourist Status Survey” held by Kanagawa Prefecture, are integrated and analyzed, and provided in a visually easy-to-read dashboard.
This makes it possible to analyze tourist behavior and consumption data, making it easier to plan effective marketing strategies for target groups in each area and to review measures after their implementation.
Kanagawa prefecture’s tourist sites are adjacent to Tokyo, and 90 percent of tourists are only on day trips. The five parties want to improve this situation.
