NTT West Wakayama Branch and NTT Business Solutions have been selected for Wakayama City’s “Regional Public Transportation Assurance, Maintenance and Improvement Project (Autonomous Driving Social Implementation Promotion Project)” in fiscal year 2024, and will utilize this to carry out the “Wakayama City Autonomous Driving Demonstration Survey Project.” Together with Macnica, which promotes autonomous EV buses, they will carry out an autonomous EV bus demonstration project in Wakayama City until the 9th (Sun).

The purpose of this project is to identify issues and analyze risks in driving on public roads, foster social acceptance of autonomous driving, revitalize local public transportation, and work together with the public and private sectors to solve transportation policy issues, with a view to the future social implementation of level 4 autonomous driving.
