Supporting Japanese language learning with an app NTT ExC Partner and Osaka Kyoiku University
NTT ExC Partner and Osaka Kyoiku University conducted a trial demonstration of “Japanese with an app – Let’s go to school” and have been researching the nature of teaching materials and learning effects.
Based on the results, the company will provide the app free of charge from the 7th (Wednesday) to boards of education, schools, and corporations that support Japanese language learning nationwide.
The app allows Japanese language teachers to teach everyday words and expressions while talking to children.
Children who have just arrived in Japan can learn the Japanese necessary to live a safe and secure school life.
With the increase in foreign residents in Japan, it is urgent for educational institutions to strengthen their system for accepting children with foreign roots.
Children who have had few opportunities to come into contact with Japanese have a problem in that there are few teaching materials that they can use to learn Japanese when they try to acquire the Japanese necessary for school and daily life.
In order to address the issue of “Japanese language acquisition for children with foreign roots who have just begun to learn Japanese (survival stage),” the two organizations are working together to create a system that will handle everything from preparing teaching materials to providing instruction, understanding learning progress, and evaluation.
