Fujitsu to build countermeasure system against fake information
Fujitsu has been selected as a project participant for the “Development of Technology Related to Fake Information Analysis” project, which was publicly solicited by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) under the “Economic Security Key Technology Development Program (commonly known as the “K Program”),” which was established in collaboration with the Cabinet Office and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry to strengthen and promote economic security, and will begin research and development on the detection, evaluation and systemization of fake information. The scale of the project is 6 billion yen and the period is scheduled to run until 2027.
The countermeasure system against fake information to be developed in this project will determine the authenticity of information such as SNS posts by determining whether the information contains artificiality, such as whether the text, images, audio and video were created by generative AI, and will support the determination of authenticity by analyzing consistency and inconsistencies using an “endorsement graph” that connects the relationships between the evidence.
Requirements will be defined for each use case for private and public demand, and a countermeasure system against fake information will be built based on this.
