Supporting disaster response for small and medium-sized municipalities NTT East

NTT East will launch the Regional Disaster Prevention Support System powered by EYE-BOUSAI on July 8th, a comprehensive disaster prevention information system that centrally consolidates and visualizes information at the time of disaster and supports situational understanding and decision-making necessary for various judgments, in order to speed up and improve the accuracy of disaster response in small and medium-sized municipalities.

This service uses the subscription version of the comprehensive disaster prevention information system “EYE-BOUSAI+” product lineup provided by NTT DATA Kansai, which has the top share in prefectures and designated cities nationwide, while narrowing down the various functions required for disaster response to the minimum necessary simple functions specialized for small and medium-sized municipalities, making it possible to introduce it according to budget.

It also provides a help desk function to make the service easier to use, and operational support functions such as familiarization and operation support.
EYE-BOUSAI has been used in many disaster preparedness situations, including the Noto Peninsula earthquake in January this year, the 2019 East Japan Typhoon (Typhoon Hagibis), Kyushu torrential rains, Western Japan torrential rains, Kumamoto earthquake, Great East Japan Earthquake, and Northern Osaka earthquake.

Meanwhile, when it comes to the introduction of system-built comprehensive disaster prevention information systems, there have been cases where small and medium-sized municipalities with limited resources have given up on introduction due to budget constraints on local governments, concerns about the cost burden and the need to learn how to operate the system due to regular personnel transfers.

Against this background, the “Regional Disaster Prevention Support System powered by EYE-BOUSAI” has narrowed down some of its functions to the bare minimum, making it possible for small and medium-sized municipalities to introduce the system according to their budgets.
