Promoting end-of-life support services OPTAGE
OPTAGE has launched a service to support end-of-life planning, called “lastmessage for eo.”
OPTAGE has released a service to support end-of-life planning, including digital wills. This service allows users to create and send a last message (digital will) to loved ones who have registered their contact information, with text, photos, and videos, as well as manage and delete IDs and passwords used during their lifetime, all for a monthly fee of 110 yen (standard plan). In addition, an optional support function for creating a notarized will is also available. This service is available to anyone in the country, not just eo service subscribers.
The elderly population and percentage of the elderly in Japan is increasing year by year, and the need for “end-of-life planning” will expand in the future, given the trend in the number of notarized wills created annually. In addition, the relevance of the Internet to the end-of-life planning market is increasing, with the consideration of digitizing handwritten wills and the emergence of the need to delete SNS accounts. As the super-aging society progresses, the term “end-of-life planning,” which refers to taking stock of one’s life and preparing for it for oneself and one’s family, is becoming more common.
In addition to this background, 80% of eo service subscribers are over 40 years old, and the company decided to release the service as it believed there would be a need for end-of-life support services for either users themselves or their parents.
