Supercomputer ranks first in the world for 9th consecutive period RIKEN and Fujitsu

The supercomputer “Fugaku” jointly developed by RIKEN and Fujitsu has been ranked first in the world for nine consecutive terms in the “HPCG (High Performance Conjugate Gradient)” and “Graph500” rankings of world supercomputers.
It was also ranked 4th on the TOP500 and 4th on HPL-MxP.
These rankings were announced on Monday the 13th at ISC High Performance 2024, an international conference on HPC (high performance computing) held at the Congress Center Hamburg in Germany, and online. 
Based on the technology that made “Fugaku” possible, Fujitsu is developing “FUJITSU-MONAKA,” an Arm architecture CPU that achieves not only high performance and power savings, but also reliability and ease of use.
In addition, the large-scale language model “Fugaku-LLM” trained on “Fugaku” and made public is a model that has excellent Japanese language ability and has been trained using proprietary data to ensure safety and transparency. It is expected to be used in next-generation innovative research and business.
