JAL, ANA, Narita International Airport (NAA), and NEC have launched a mobile app that allows users to register their personal information, which can only be done on terminals at the airport, anywhere on their smartphones, along with online check-in, for boarding procedures that utilize facial recognition technology. A demonstration experiment was conducted at Narita Airport. As a result, it was confirmed that the system contributed to improving the utilization rate at the airport and significantly shortened the processing time.
