Metaverse becomes a touchpoint for administrative agencies Ichihara City collaborates with NTT East

Ichihara City, in collaboration with Chiba University of Commerce and NTT East Chiba, will conduct a verification study on the use of Metaverse in administrative agencies in order to meet the diverse needs of citizens with restrictions on time, place, and movement, such as households with children and the elderly .
Chiba University of Commerce is building a metaverse space that utilizes Ichihara City’s resources. NTT East will be in charge of technical support for the virtual space platform ”DOOR” and how to utilize the Metaverse.
Ichihara City will grasp the level of interest and actual usage of the Metaverse among citizens, and will analyze how to utilize it with the aim of enhancing administrative services.
Ichihara City is promoting initiatives that utilize digital technology to solve local issues and create added value, with the aim of creating a society where everyone can enjoy the benefits of digital technology.
As part of this, it is envisaged that the Metaverse will be used as a new touchpoint for administrative agencies to respond to the diverse needs of citizens.
