AI shop clerk in the Metaverse NTT docomo, QVC Japan, Relic
NTT docomo, QVC Japan, and Relic will be using NTT docomo’s super multi-person connection technology in the virtual shopping space “Metaverse QVC Shopping PLAZA”, which is being developed on the metacommunication service “MetaMe” operated by Relic. , has started a trial operation of customer service using the first AI shop clerk “Guru metaQ” for a limited time until April 14th (Sunday). At the 3rd floor kitchen and food booth, AI store staff will develop their customer service skills through conversations with user avatars.
Guru metaQ utilizes avatar AI developed by NTT docomo and PKSHA Technology using proprietary technology, and is located in the kitchen and food booth on the 3rd floor of Metaverse QVC Shopping Plaza. The main customer service activities include exploring customer needs through asking questions, presenting recommended products on QVC, and answering questions about QVC. In the future, they plan to develop the avatar AI to be rich in individuality depending on the personality required, and are looking into providing personalized customer service that the avatar AI will suggest based on the user’s avatar’s hobbies and preferences.
