NTT Finance is participating in ”Sakura Project,” which aims to support Fukushima, Tohoku, and the entire country in hopes of recovering from the Great East Japan Earthquake, and is conducting tree-planting activities in various locations. This time, they donated and planted saplings of a new type of cherry tree, Haruka, grown in Fukushima Prefecture, as a symbol of recovery in Mitaka City, Tokyo. To commemorate the tree-planting, they invited Keiichi Otani (chairman of the Iwaki Storytellers Association and disaster prevention specialist), who is active as a storyteller about the earthquake disaster in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, to give a lecture on disaster prevention efforts based on his experience with the earthquake.
