Underground visualization service in Sendai Hitachi
Hitachi has launched an “underground visualization service” in Aoba Ward, Sendai City that uses digital technology such as radar and AI analysis to visualize and manage information such as the location and dimensions of buried objects during surveys of road maintenance projects in Sendai City. The information was provided to the road department.
Road maintenance projects have been underway since February on two city roads in Aoba Ward, Sendai City.
By using the underground visualization service, data such as buried object position information and road surface images obtained from underground radar exploration equipment is analyzed using Hitachi’s AI technology, and information such as the position coordinates of buried pipes can be obtained with high precision. Convert to 3D data. As a result, it is possible to understand the installation position of buried pipes, etc., which can be a hindrance in road improvement work, and the positional relationship of each pipe, without having to conduct test excavations, before making a design. Improved design accuracy is expected to prevent rework during the construction stage and reduce the risk of pipeline damage.
By centrally displaying and sharing the installation status of buried pipes in two dimensions, they aim to streamline the coordination of business content with other private occupation operators and design/construction companies, and realize planned business promotion.
