NEC has developed the world’s first technology that combines large-scale language models (LLM) that support generative AI and video recognition AI to automatically generate shortened videos and explanatory text tailored to the user’s purpose from long videos.
By applying this technology to video analysis of drive recorders, it is possible to automatically generate text and abbreviated videos that explain the circumstances at the time of the accident and the circumstances that led to the accident. In addition, based on these data, accident investigation reports are automatically created in accordance with the format for purposes such as insurance claims and traffic safety guidance. This can halve the time it takes to create reports, which was previously done manually.
NEC plans to offer a trial version of this technology in March next year.
