Nikken Sekkei and Geocreates have released a virtual evacuation drill developed by both companies as ” Virtual Evacuation Drill” with the aim of controlling the flow of people in Shibuya in the event of a disaster and disseminating evacuation plans.
This service was unveiled at Shibuya Ward Office for three days from August 30th to September 1st as a pre-event for ” TOKYO Moshimo FES Shibuya”.
Since evacuation drills are most effective when many people participate at the same time, they developed the virtual evacuation drill so that participants can easily participate using computers, smartphones, etc., without using VR goggles. It has already been used in evacuation drills for 50 to 100 people at Nikken Sekkei’s Tokyo headquarters building in 2020 and 2021.
