Winning the World Drone Competition Kobe University and Aerosense
On July 11 (Tue), Kobe University and Aerosense participated in the World Drone Competition, a global competition that competes for disaster response and emergency goods transport technology using drones, cleared all the designated missions, achieved the highest score among all four teams, two domestic teams and two overseas teams, and won the championship.
In the competition, we assume the operation of drones in the event of a disaster, and assume that Yokohama City’s Disaster Response Headquarters will dispatch a drone rescue team to a disaster that occurred near Futtsu Minato Park in Chiba Prefecture. After flying 16 kilometers over Tokyo Bay from Yokohama Hakkeijima to Futtsu Minato Park, they dropped about 300 grams of therapeutic medicine onto a drop point set up by a local medical institution in the park, read messages from victims written on the ground from the sky, and returned home.
