Using a machine learning algorithm to decompose the movement trajectory of GPS data into “walking, car, railroad” LocationMind

LocationMind, a location information AI venture from the University of Tokyo, has started selling “xPop station sphere data” as the second installment of “xPop for Professional Data” that provides people flow data based on GPS data in CSV format.
LocationMind used machine learning algorithms to decompose the trajectories of GPS data into “walking, car, rail”. In addition, the railway network (routes and stations) throughout Japan is uniquely converted into data, and from the movement trajectory of GPS data that is identified as “movement by railway”, the route used, boarding station, transfer station, alighting station, and before and after movement activities can also be analyzed.
