It’s been a year since I started learning Krav Maga, a close-quarters martial art from Israel. The other day, there was a test to go up to level 3, and I managed to pass. Krav Maga defines level 3 as intermediate. The five-hour test took a toll on my 50-plus body, and it’s no exaggeration to say that I almost fainted. Still, I was able to rise to level 3, so I think I’ll train for a while longer. Security is getting worse and worse, and we live in a world where we do not know when and where we will be attacked. Violence is bad. I want to learn the minimum self-defense techniques to counter that violence. (Kei)
