Providing aluminum cables as anti-theft measures for solar power plants GBP
GBP has launched the industry’s first aluminum cable as an anti-theft measure for solar power plants. GBP aims to reduce the risk of theft by selling aluminum cables instead of copper cables, which are often targeted in thefts of solar power plants. The company believes that the low cost of aluminum makes theft less attractive as the return on theft is limited.
GBP aluminum cables conform to German standards. Aluminum conductors are 30-50% lighter and more flexible than copper conductors.
Anti-theft measures using aluminum cables are attracting attention overseas as well.
