Teijin Frontier have developed an RFID reader that reads IC tags on the inside of your index finger
Teijin Frontier has developed a hands-free UHF band wearable RFID reader “RecoHand (pictured)” that can accurately read IC tags inside the index finger.
The RecoHand is capable of near reading from 0 to 30mm inside the index finger. This makes it possible to read only the target IC tag while performing a series of sorting and picking operations such as “touching”, “holding”, and “carrying”.
According to Teijin Frontier, the time required for sorting and picking work is reduced by 50% compared to using conventional barcodes.
Teijin Frontier will start selling it for picking and sorting applications in logistics and medical sites from June. Sales will be expanded for items and process management at manufacturing sites, settlement applications in the retail industry, and book management. They also expand overseas.
