NTT East’s Saitama Division will hold NTT East’s employees in Minamiaiki Village, Nagano Prefecture, on June 1st (Thursday) and June 2nd (Friday), and June 8th (Thursday) and June 9th (Friday). and local villagers collaborated to hold a workshop (experience-based training) to experience and think about solving local social issues.
The workshop was aimed at employees in their fourth year with the company. After joining the company due to the corona crisis, it was difficult to communicate with my colleagues. In addition, remote work is progressing, and going to the site is decreasing. Under such circumstances, we planned a training session with the purpose of going to the site, interacting with local staff, and producing output for regional revitalization.

Minamiaiki Village has a population of 955. More than 90% of the total area is forest and wilderness. There are issues such as population decline and a shortage of workers in the primary industry.
Under these circumstances, Mr. Katsuya Mori of NTT East is working on regional revitalization while living in Minamiaiki Village using the company’s “outside dispatch program”.
Mr. Mori joined Satoyume, a consulting firm focused on regional revitalization.
Mr. Mori said, “I chose Satoyume because I wanted to learn how to contribute to the local community through escort-type production after setting the purpose of the business while developing demonstration experiments and new businesses. Last September. I moved to Minamiaiki Village in 2011 and am now involved in restructuring the village’s management business.”

At the workshop, employees of NTT East listened to the story of a woman who runs a mobile sales vehicle in the village. In addition, They heard stories from young producers who moved to Minamiaiki Village from outside the prefecture to run a strawberry farm because they wanted to grow strawberries in the summer.
