Summit, a supermarket chain, utilizes the “Regional Food Resource Recycling Solution” provided by NTT Business Solutions, and treats food residue generated at Summit stores with food residue fermentation decomposition equipment.
With the cooperation of the Tomisato City Agricultural Cooperative Association (JA Tomisato), we have started selling vegetables produced using compost made from food residue discharged from the Summit at the Summit Store Setagaya Funabashi store. bottom.
JA Tomisato City uses the compost generated at the summit to produce vegetables, forming a “food resource circulation” in which the products are returned to stores and sold.
At the Summit Store, about 100 kg of food waste is generated per day during product manufacturing in the backyard, so food waste has been recycled into fertilizer and feed. At stores that utilize the “Regional Food Resource Recycling Solution”, food residue is fermented and decomposed by the food residue fermentation and decomposition equipment “Forstars” installed in the backyard, and composted at the recycling center.
