NEC communication system has commercialized “NEC 3D survey support software” that supports equipment inspection such as electric wires and utility poles using 3D sensors.

This product uses distance measurement technology to measure the length of objects and the distance between objects (distance) from a distance by analyzing 3D depth (distance) information of equipment acquired using a 3D sensor. This makes it possible to measure the length and angle of electric wires and utility poles.

In the electric power and railway industries, inspections and measurement work are regularly carried out in accordance with national and company regulations.

Measurement work can be carried out from a remote location on the ground. Specifically, it enables equipment inspections to be carried out in a short time with a small number of people while ensuring the safety of workers, and past verifications have confirmed the effect of shortening work time by up to 85%.
