Doing what you love to work Saeko Adachi(Small and Medium sized Enterprise Management Consultant)

“Carrying out a favorite thing to work” has the pros and cons. There are some people who deny carrying out a favorite thing to work. However, there are not few businessmen who carry out “a favorite thing” to work and are achieving success.

A storekeeper, Mr. Yohei Asano is one of them.He runs this sake specialty shop “Asano sake shop” which has the tasting bar.

Mr. Asano who was a salaried worker of the famous company has opened that shop in Umeda, Osaka in 2012. He is developing the shopfloor at Kyoto, Kobe, and Tokyo besides Osaka. His concept is “letting many people know the delicacy of sake”. He was born and grew up in Niigata, and since he was young, he has realized charm of sake.

He studied the management and prepared for commencement of business when he was a a salaried worker. Moreover, he studied the technique of the famous company. He says, “He thinks it dependent on your way whether you go succesfully.”

You may think that he manages the shopfloor systematically and is gaining profits efficiently. He is not anything like that. His basics is a posture “Consider how I get the visitor to be glad”. The business must gain profits. However, first-line things are these. One is to selll sake to the visitor politely. One is to get the visitor to enjoy sake. “My ideal is that profiting while I am doing my best'”,he says.

We will become painful with a favorite thing to work, because we must pursue the profits.

If it is said to be a hard work, many people tend to run to a gut theory. However, an entrepreneur’s hard work is getting a customer to be glad and forming the structure for profits. The key which carries out a favorite thing to work and is successful is a balance of cool and passion. I heard Mr. Asano’s talk and felt so.
