Developing cyborg insects Riken,Waseda

サイボーグ昆虫(cyborg insect)

The Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (Riken), Waseda University, and  Singapore South Pacific science-and-engineering university have developed the cyborg insect.
As long as the lifetime of an insect continues, there is no dead battery.

They applied the “steppingstone architecture” which arranges an adhesives domain and a non adhesives domain for thin organic solar cell alternatingly. They achieved the cyborg insect in which re-charge and wireless communications are possible with steppingstone architecture.

By combining sensor, the functions of cyborg insect is further expandable.
Cyborg insect will bes used by inspection search rescue, environmental monitoring, and hazarder local.
