Ocean Energy Harvest Vessel Nippon Kaiji Kyokai and Taiyo Kogyo
Taiyo Kogyo is developing the sail technology which the head wind also moves forward, leaning sail like the wings of airplane to horizontal.
It is the business which cooperates in Nippon Kaiji Kyokai(ClassNK).
Taiyo Kogyo makes patent fillings of the “sailing unit”, and starts feasibility study at Lake Biwa.
Nippon Kaiji Kyokai is conceiving the vessel which advances in response to the wind, turns and generates a propeller in sea water.
They are calling it OEHV (Ocean Energy Harvest Vessel) and aim at the the commercialization in 2030. In their trial calculation, they say that it becomes possible to provide 10% of the total production of electricity in Japan with the operation of 100 boats.
