NTT has developed the technology which performs omen detection of network failure for the first time in the world. It achieves by including new function in the existing fiber optic cable and optical transmission device.

The increase in failure of the optical transmission device which advances large scale-ization is not avoided. In order to correspond to this, NTT established the technology in which they could specify the omen package part before service influence.

According to NTT, communication traffic becomes large scale further in the future. therefore, storing traffic economically is called for.

However, the influence at the time of failure of an optical transmission device also increases by the increase in capacity.

The technology developed this time solves such a problem and promote introduction of IOWN APN.
