NTT Group and J.League start “TH! NK THE BALL PROJECT”.
This project uses the NTT Group’s technological capabilities to create a system that makes it easy for J.League fans, supporters, and citizens to participate in climate action and maintain it. It encourages people to change their daily behavior regarding the environment and realizes regional revitalization.
First, they aim to develop and provide a system that makes it easier for fans and supporters to participate in climate action, and they will start a fan and supporter participation trial from September.
NTT President Akira Shimada said, “NTT Group is working on providing carbon-neutral services using green power generation and conducting research on behavioral change. NTT Group is also carbon-neutral in 2040 through power saving and renewable energy utilization through IOWN. We are aiming to realize this.We would like to cooperate with J.League in various ways.While utilizing IOWN’s technology and services, we would like to move forward together with J.League toward the realization of a sustainable society”.
Yoshikazu Nonomura, chairman of the J.League, said “Looking at the 10-year period from 2013 to 2022. In the first five years, the average number of games played by heavy rain was 2.8 per year. In the last five years, 11.6 games were canceled due to heavy rain. We believe it is important to contribute to resolving climate change issues in order to continue playing soccer amidst the turmoil of the natural environment.We are focusing on climate action, including regional revitalization, which is the original form of the J.League“.
