Linking vending machines and robots Takenaka
Takenaka Corporation, Aim Technologies, and vending machine maker Sanden Retail System conducted a demonstration experiment of a service linking vending machines and service robots at the Otemachi Building.
A robot delivers products ordered on a smartphone. The robot approaches the vending machine, automatically picks up the corresponding product, and then delivers it to the location where the user is. This technology is the first step toward achieving 24-hour unmanned sales.
Takenaka Corporation led the overall design and development, Aim Technologies was in charge of service robots compatible with elevators, remodeling of the vending machine, and system development, and Sanden Retail Systems supported remodeling of the vending machine.
