NTT has succeeded in measuring long-term neural activity from a neural network in which three-dimensional cell clusters are connected, using a unique technology to create three-dimensional graphene, a sheet-like substance made only from carbon atoms.
This achievement succeeded in visualizing neural functions in a cultured tissue (a network of three-dimensional cell clusters) that mimics the characteristic structure of the brain. It is expected to be utilized as an elemental technology for brain-on-a-chip.
