Future co-creation program “Future-Build For Well-being Society” NTT West
On the 28th of last month (Tuesday), NTT West held a meeting to report on the results of its future co-creation program “Future-Build For Well-being Society” at the company’s open innovation facility “QUINTBRIDGE”.
This program will be a future-oriented initiative that will provide new value to the local community.
Mr. Akira Shirahase, NTT West Executive Officer and Technology Innovation Manager, said, “Behind the future co-creation program is a major change in the times. Social issues are also expanding. I want to solve social issues and create the future.I want to create the future by cooperating with startups, companies, universities, etc., not by one company.I launched the program with that in mind. ‘, he says.
The society that the company aims for is “a society where well-being can be realized through connections”
The four specific areas of “Health”, “Lifestyle”, “Environment” and “Economy” have been identified, and NTT West and partners are working together to create new ideas.
When we called for ideas on six themes related to four areas in August last year, we received more than 100 applications. 10 companies were selected from among them, and in cooperation with NTT West employees, we have proceeded with examinations for commercialization, including demonstration experiments.
At the result report meeting, the results of the demonstration experiment and future developments were reported.
For example, in the field of economics, NTT West and the Hiroshima National College of Merchant College worked together to develop a low-cost equipment failure prediction diagnosis system.
In the demonstration experiment, we verified whether even inexpensive low-frequency measurement using compression sensing technology can perform predictive failure diagnosis at the same level as expensive high-frequency measurement.
In the area of daily life, NTT West and Bbridge worked together to create a ‘vibrant town’ using AR. Specifically, we are developing a street art service that utilizes AR. AR art that can be viewed by holding a smartphone over the city was exhibited, and it was verified whether AR art would increase the flow of people and have an economic effect.
