Commercialization of equipment inspection robot HBA
The 7th Robodex Tokyo was held at Tokyo Big Sight for three days from 25th to 27th.
HBA exhibited a robot “HSR inspection” that automates the inspection of facilities and equipment such as plants. This is an inspection robot that automatically travels to a target location, extends its arm to an object, and collects data with sensors. Achieving automatic patrols will cover labor shortages.
The robot exhibited this time is a so-called “Hokkaido specification” that was jointly developed with Hokkaido Electric Power.
HBA’s Takanori Yamano said, “(HSR inspection) is already on the verge of being put into practical use. Starting with full-scale deployment from April this year, we would like to proceed with business while repeating various demonstrations.”
HBA is collaborating with NTT COMWARE to conduct a demonstration experiment of data center operation using HSR inspection.
“This year, we would like to have a robot turn on and off the server power supply. It is more difficult than we imagined to have a robot turn on and off the power supply. It will take some tweaking, but we will take on the challenge of achieving that.”
