NTT East collaborated with NCT to build and operate a video streaming network utilizing a local 5G environment at the venue of the Nagaoka Festival Grand Fireworks Display, held along the Shinano River in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture, from Sunday the 2nd to Monday the 3rd.
At the fireworks venue, the system leveraged the high-speed, high-capacity, and low-latency capabilities of local 5G to ensure stable 4K video transmission. It also enabled close-range filming—angles previously impossible with wired cabling—thereby delivering clear, immersive video footage of the fireworks.
The Nagaoka Festival Grand Fireworks Display is counted among Japan’s three major fireworks festivals and is one of the country’s largest, featuring the launch of approximately 20,000 fireworks. The event attracts around 360,000 paid spectators over the course of two days.
