Hitachi Technical College Introduces Advanced German Education System to Cultivate Manufacturing Talent Through Cyber and Physical Integration
Hitachi Technical College, Hitachi Ltd.’s training institution for manufacturing talent, will be the first in Japan to fully implement the “Cyber-Physical Lab (CP-Lab)” advanced education system, which links the digital space (cyber) with the actual manufacturing site (physical), starting in April. This will launch a new educational curriculum aimed at cultivating talent to lead the next generation of manufacturing.
This initiative will further strengthen the development of “digital craftsmen” who possess both traditional craftsmanship and digital technology expertise, supporting the next generation of manufacturing sites, with a view to the smart factory transformation of manufacturing sites.
CP-Lab is a system provided by Festo GmbH in Germany that visualizes the real-time interaction between physical production lines (physical) and control programs, allowing students to learn the basic structure of smart factories based on Industry 4.0/IoT. The new curriculum aims to accelerate the social implementation of physical AI and its contribution to solving social issues.
