Japan AI Skill Certification Association Launches “Vibe Coding” Skills Test to Cultivate 1 Million AI Professionals
Japan AI Skill Certification Association (JAIS) has launched Japan’s first AI certification, the “Vibe Coding Certification Exam” (free of charge).
Vibe Coding is a new development style that utilizes generative AI to enable non-engineers to develop apps, web services, and business automation tools without programming knowledge (no-code). Instead of writing code, digital tools can be built simply by giving instructions to the AI in natural language (Japanese).
This AI certification is an examination that evaluates and certifies Vibe Coding skills. The exam can be taken online at any time, and regardless of pass/fail result, taking the exam allows you to understand your current AI skill level.
The Vibe Coding Certification Exam (Beginner Level) evaluates the basic skills necessary for non-engineers to develop apps using AI.
Specifically, the program will focus on: “Understanding the mechanisms of app development using generative AI, and the definition, characteristics, and representative tools of vibe coding (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Bolt, Replit, etc.)”; “The basics of prompt design for accurately instructing generative AI by verbalizing the specifications of the app you want to create”; “Basic knowledge of web application UI configuration, screen design, and user experience”; “Basic knowledge of data storage methods, access permission concepts, and risks related to personal information and security”; “Basic procedures and precautions for publishing and operating the created app”; and “Methods for checking the code output by generative AI, approaches to error handling, and the basics of the testing and improvement cycle.”
The association aims to cultivate AI talent throughout Japan and support the creation of AI-driven businesses for companies through its free AI certification program.
By 2030, they aim to train and certify 1 million AI professionals.
