NTT docomo business and Omron Promote Global Data Collaboration Using Data Space

両社が提供するソリューション(Solutions provided by both companies)

NTT docomo business and Omron aim to realize smooth global data collaboration between companies across the supply chain by utilizing data spaces such as “Catena-X,” which is specialized for the automotive industry. Specifically, they will collaborate to provide a “secure data collaboration solution” that connects manufacturing sites (OT) with external networks (IT).

Data Space is a system and technology platform that enables the secure and free exchange of data.

NTT docomo business Evangelist Akira Sakaino said, “Data Space has the potential to dramatically change the way manufacturing, data utilization, and AI are utilized. We believe that the secure data collaboration solution will be the first step in advancing the use of data and AI in manufacturing.” The solution combines NTT Docomo Business’s NaaS and IoT services equipped with threat detection and blocking functions with OMRON’s developed “Data Flow Controller” (an edge controller that easily collects, analyzes, and visualizes data from manufacturing sites), to easily and securely connect OT data from manufacturing sites to the cloud and data spaces.
With a view to the full-scale implementation of international data spaces such as Manufacturing-X in society in the future, the two companies are participating in the “University of Tokyo Data Space Technology International Testbed” hosted by Professor Noboru Koshizuka of the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies, and will promote co-creation through industry-academia collaboration.
