Chubu Centrair International Airport will introduce  “WHILL Autonomous Driving Service” on Tuesday, October 1st.
This service allows airport users to use a touch panel to navigate an autonomous personal mobility vehicle (one-seater vehicle) through security checkpoints and to their desired boarding gate.
As inbound and domestic travelers continue to reach record highs and travel demand continues to rise, the service will be launched as part of efforts to create an environment in which all users, regardless of age or gender, can use the airport comfortably.
Chubu Centrair International Airport has been ranked number one in the world for 10 consecutive years in the “Regional Airport” category of an airport customer service evaluation ranking (conducted by British research company SKYTRAX), and is highly regarded internationally.
