Creating a digital equipment ledger Keio Corporation
Keio Corporation has adopted “Tetsuten,” ,digital solution for the maintenance and management of railway lineside facilities provided by Furukawa Electric and Furukawa Sangyo, to install power poles that support overhead contact lines and to install them at level crossings on the entire Inokashira Line. A total of 16 types of approximately 8,000 railway electrical equipment, including special light-emitting signals that notify abnormalities, were analyzed and digital equipment ledger was created. As a result, the GIS platform “K-PaS” (KEIO Platform and Systems) developed by Keio Corporation can be used to visualize electrical equipment on map in the same way as railway civil engineering structures. ) will be able to share the status of on-site facilities.
This will enable faster and smoother inter-departmental coordination not only during normal operations but also during abnormal situations, improving safety and operational efficiency for the railway sector as a whole. The company plans to import the ledgers acquired by Tetsuten into K-PaS and begin operating it within this fiscal year.
“Tetsuten” is a digital solution developed by Furukawa Electric that solves issues related to maintenance of railway lineside equipment. Using Furukawa Electric’s proprietary RPA technology, the running data acquired by drive recorders installed on commercial trains will be used to analyze the location information and condition of railway equipment, and provide digital data as videos for patrol inspections.
