I have been using a music practice studio in Nishi-Shinjuku for over 30 years. I started using it in the early 90’s when I was a teenager. The usage fee is 1,600 yen for 2 hours. In the 2000s, the price dropped to 1,000 yen for two hours, perhaps due to deflation. The era of 1,000 yen for 2 hours lasted for a long time, and it was very useful for users. However, recently the price has been raised to 1,200 yen for 2 hours, and 1,400 yen for 2 hours. Still, it’s cheaper than it was 30 years ago. Looking at studio fees, it seems like we are just one step away from overcoming deflation. (Kei)
