Remotely controlled automatic robot in Nishi-Shinjuku area NTT Communications
NTT Communications (NTT Com) announced on February 13th, that it will be testing a food delivery/wrapping advertisement service using remote-controlled automatic delivery robots for people who work or live in the Nishi-Shinjuku area in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo.
This verification will be conducted by NTT Com as part of the Advanced Services Implementation Subcommittee project of the Nishi-Shinjuku Advanced Services Implementation Industry-Government-Academia Consortium.
As the working population declines and work styles and lifestyles become more diverse, challenges are emerging in delivery, security, and transportation. Efforts toward implementation are underway. In addition, they have been conducting demonstration experiments to utilize robots for various purposes such as security, mobility support, and information dissemination.
The verification will expand on the food delivery demonstration experiment conducted in Nagoya City in 2022, and include technical verification of a delivery robot running only by remote control using RobiCo, as well as food delivery services and wrapping in cooperation with three restaurants. Verify the effectiveness of advertisements, etc.
