Developing cloud-type mobility device platform using 5G University of Tokyo and NTT Com
The University of Tokyo, NTT Communications (NTT Com), M-Square Lab, GClue, and ONBOARD developed and conducted a demonstration experiment of a cloud-based mobility device platform using 5G SA at Niigata University.
The development and demonstration was carried out as part of the NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization) ”Research and Development Project for Strengthening Post-5G Information and Communication System Infrastructure,” which was commissioned by M-Square Lab.
A cloud-based mobility device platform is a system that allows a single mobility device to be used for multiple purposes by migrating most of the functionality of the mobility device to the cloud. It consists of a physical mobility device and a device management system that is the brain of the mobility device.
“robot for each purpose” part is changed by combining “mobile robot” part, which is commonly used mainly for movement functions, and “robot for each purpose” part, which is specialized for each use case, and adopting a detachable configuration. With just one simple step, you will be able to utilize mobility devices for a variety of purposes.
