Emphasis on business co-creation using digital certificates linked to decentralized ID NTT DATA, Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking, and others form the “DID/VC co-creation consortium”
NTT DATA, Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking, Itochu Techno-Solutions, TOPPAN Digital, Hakuhodo Keithley, Hitachi, Fujitsu, and Anderson Mori & Tomotsune Gaikokuho Joint Venture are collaborating to develop digital certificates linked to decentralized IDs (Decentralized Identifiers). DID/VC Co-Creation Consortium (abbreviated as DVCC) has been established on October 10th with the aim of co-creating businesses based on Verifiable Credentials.
DVCC will develop interoperability rules to promote social implementation and dissemination of distributed IDs and digital certificates, and will work to contribute to society by solving social issues and co-create businesses using this technology.
In modern society where digital technology is pervasive, the value of data is increasing. As a result, security and privacy issues have arisen, such as ”Are you communicating with the person you are communicating with?” ”Is the information being exchanged reliable?” and ”Is your information being used without permission?”
DVCC provides safe, secure, and convenient authentication that guarantees the confidentiality of individuals managing their own information, the safety of tamper resistance and traceability, and the convenience of allowing individuals to carry and use once verified information. We see decentralized ID and digital certificates as a means to achieve this.
