CYNEX Alliance launched NICT
National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) has launched ”CYNEX Alliance” in which domestic industry, academia, and government organizations participate, and CYNEX activities have begun in earnest. Through this, the aim is to form an industry-academia-government collaboration base for cyber security in Japan, and to improve Japan’s ability to deal with cyber attacks and security self-sufficiency.
Japan’s cybersecurity field is highly dependent on foreign security technology, and the inability to accumulate know-how and knowledge regarding core technologies has stagnated research and development, leading to a slump in security self-sufficiency.
In order to break away from this current situation, NICT established a new organization, Cyber Security Nexus (CYNEX), in April 2021, and has been preparing for various activities with the aim of becoming a nexus between industry, academia, and government.
To commemorate the launch of the CYNEX Alliance, a CYNEX Alliance Launch Symposium will be held on October 12th (Thursday) at the NICT Innovation Center in Nihonbashi, Tokyo.
