Accelerating O-RAN overseas expansion NTT docomo
NTT docomo, as an open RAN service provider, announced the service lineup ”OREX RAN”, “OREX SMO”, and ”OREX Services” provided to overseas carriers.
By announcing the service lineup, the aim is to clarify the services provided by OREX to overseas carriers and expand OREX.
OREX is an open RAN service brand provided by NTT docomo and various global vendors in collaboration, providing the optimal open RAN for each individual’s challenges.
By introducing OREX’s open RAN service, you can reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) such as initial costs and maintenance costs required when introducing open RAN by up to 30%, and reduce network design and operation by up to 50%. It also reduces power consumption at base stations by up to 50%.
OREX RAN provides base stations with high cost performance that exhibit the characteristics of open RAN, which allows the combination of products from various vendors. Specifically, OREX PARTNERS will provide a rich lineup of virtualized base stations (vRAN) that combine the strengths of 13 companies and radio equipment (RU) compatible with the frequencies of each country.
